My background is distinctly 'non-artistic' having spent 20 years working in the British National Health service as a Physiotherapist. I moved to Finland in 2002 with my Finnish husband and 4 month old daughter. It was through one of the playgroups I went to with the children, that I learnt to felt and I haven't looked back! The spare room is now my studio and the hub of FeltFinland!
 

I have been feltmaking now since the winter of 2005 and continue to be amazed by it's properties and versatility.

I get my inspiration from the beautiful nature I see all around me here in Finland and of course one cannot ignore the brain waves that strike just as one fall's asleep!

Occasionally the true colours of the work are not exactly reproduced in the photographs, but I will endeavour to be as accurate as possible.

          Olen taustaltani hyvinkin "ei-taiteellinen", sillä olen työskennellyt 20 vuotta fysioterapeuttina Iso-Britannian julkisen terveyshuollon palveluksessa. Muutin Suomeen vuonna 2002 suomalaisen mieheni ja 4 kuukautta vanhan tyttäreni kanssa. Lasten päiväkerhon kautta opin huovuttamisen alkeet, eikä innostukseni ole sen jälkeen laantunut. Vierashuone on nyt työhuoneeni ja FeltFinlandin keskus!

Olen tehnyt huovutustöitä nyt kaksi vuotta ja hämmästelen edelleenkin huovan ominaisuuksia ja monipuolisuutta. Saan innoitukseni kauniista suomalaisesta luonnosta ympärilläni unohtamatta juuri ennen nukahtamista syntyviä ajatuksia.
